The Red Bull team has announced significant changes for the 2026 Grand Prix year, elevating French driver Isack Hadjar to its A-team and giving 18-year-old Briton Arvid Lindblad his first Formula 1 seat. Lindblad, who comes from a mixed Swedish-Indian background, will be the partner of Kiwi driver Liam Lawson at the sister squad VCARB. This driver musical chairs results in Japan's Yuki Tsunoda losing his seat post a half-decade in F1. A Star in the Making The British teen took part in FP1 for the British and Mexico City Grands Prix this year. The youngster was tagged as a prodigy by Red Bull from the age of 12 years old. Discussing the company's junior academy, a senior Red Bull figure noted last year that Lindblad "looks really promising", praising his "raw pace". Red Bull has been working since last year to prepare Lindblad for his likely Grand Prix bow in 2026, including appearances in Grand Prix practice at Silverstone and Mexico City. Lindblad stated it was a "huge honour", adding: "Next season represents a big challenge, and I know there's much to understand, but I'm eager to collaborate with the team and meet the challenge. I am incredibly excited to get started." Lindblad has taken a couple of victories in F2 this year and is P6 in the championship ahead of the season finale in Abu Dhabi. The Frenchman's Chance The French driver enjoys his first podium in F1, achieved at the Zandvoort race this season. The Frenchman's debut season began on a low note when he spun out during the warm-up lap of the first Australian Grand Prix. But, from that point, he has emerged as one of the most impressive rookies of the year. His performances featured an outstanding top-three result at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he lies in tenth place in the championship. The team principal said: "Isack has shown great maturity and demonstrated to be a quick learner. Crucially, he has the innate pace that is the number one requirement in this sport. We believe he can thrive alongside Max." The promoted driver called it "an incredible opportunity" and said he felt "up for the challenge". Tsunoda's Exit To partner Lindblad at the junior team, Red Bull have preferred Lawson over Tsunoda. Lawson began the season with the senior squad but was moved back early in the year. However, he has found his form at the junior outfit with notable results, convincing Red Bull he merits more time. The Japanese driver, meanwhile, has been ejected after a difficult season. His best result is a P6, and he has scored a small fraction of the team's constructors' championship. These announcements mean that there is also no spot on the Red Bull programme for Irish driver Alex Dunne, who will continue in F2 next season.
