Vince Zampella, renowned for co-creating the immensely successful franchise Call of Duty, has tragically died in a traffic collision in California at the age of 55.

The tragic news was confirmed by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, a game studio that he helped create.

The celebrated industry figure died after his vehicle was involved in a crash and caught fire on a freeway in LA on this past Sunday, according to.
